Founded in 2012, Home on the Range Animal Haven (HORAH) is the only animal haven in Laramie, WY. Casper has established its first official trap, neuter, return program! Since September 2020 Casper TNR has spayed/vaccinated 27 cats, neutered /vaccinated 14 cats, and rescued 17 kittens later adopted.

Grounded in science, TNR stops the breeding cycle of cats and therefore improves their lives while preventing reproduction.

With the help of a grant from the Humane Society of the United States, Rock Springs Animal Control succeeded in removing, crushing, and recycling their latest gas chamber (along with a previous one).

City Councilman Tim Savage helped connect the shelter staff with the HSUS for grant funding to demolish the gas chamber, ensuring it will never be used by others again.

Senate Files 25 and 26 provide a process so that agencies seizing animals can receive money upfront for the cost of care or can adopt out the animals earlier if the owner does not follow a court order to cover the costs of care in custody. These bills cover companion animals or pets, and livestock, seized as evidence.
